Comprehensive Background Check
How will you like to give the control of your company, which has taken you many years of hard labor to build, over to a criminal? I know this sounds harsh, but that's what many people do. They hire just anybody because of impressive resume without taking the time to conduct a thorough background check and the person climbs to the top still nursing his or her inner criminal plans.
With such a person at the top of your company, you have obviously given control to a criminal. It will just be a matter of time before he or she wreaks havoc on your company. The criminal in him/her is just waiting for the right time and the right opportunity to strike. This has happened to a lot of companies and nothing prevents it from happening to yours, if the person really is criminally inclined.
The beauty with a background check is that it will go very far into the person's life and dig out a lot of details that will surely reveal who the person really is. A criminal can't hide the true character for very long. Even if they can, they can't hide themselves for too long. And if the person has held one or more jobs before coming to work for you, then there's ever likelihood that there true characters have manifested where they were previously working.
Don't worry about the cost of getting a background check done for every potential employee. I know it will be pricey when you add it up, but it will surely be worth your while, at the end of the day.
And ensure you let your potential employees and current employees to be aware when you want to conduct a background check on them. This is a way to NOT invade their privacy. Letting them know protects you from being guilty of invading their privacy. After all, they also have rights just as you do.
